Easing Labour Pain 2-hour Class

This class is about the best 2 hours you can spend preparing for your birth. The hands-on* information is not covered in any other local prenatal class. Tips, tales and practical stuff to help you prepare for labour. Learn to make informed choices and strategies to make birth easier.  Partners & companions can learn to provide comfort and ease pain in labour!
*Hands-on being partners’ hands practicing massage and comfort techniques.

We will practise many labour positions and provide ideas for what the birth companion can do to help. Learn about medical informed consent (and how to really get it) so you both feel more control during the birth experience.

Topics include comfort measures that really work, positions for labour/birth, massage techniques, communicating effectively with each other and medical caregivers, strategies for avoiding unnecessary interventions.  We squeeze over 35 years of experience being doulas into a 2-hour session of fun and movement.

Suitable for first-timers or parents having their subsequent kids.  Doulas and other support people welcome!

I really enjoyed the class. It would be such a beneficial class for all parents in different seasons .. 1st-5th baby etc.  I think position was great to do.  It never hurts to figure these comfort measures out before being in labour and the partner would definitely be feeling prepared to help mum out.”  (Amy, 2019)
